How to travel from Incheon International Airport (ICN) to the conference venue at KAIST.

A brief summary of the transportation options is provided below.

Recommended route: Take an airport limousine bus from Incheon International Airport to the Daejeon Government Complex, then take a taxi to the KAIST Academic Cultural Complex (E9).

RECOMMENDED: By Airport Bus

  1. After collecting your luggage, follow the signs to the airport bus ticketing area. See the Incheon International Airport public transportation guide for terminal and ticketing information.
  2. Purchase a ticket to Daejeon Cheongsa. The destination may also be displayed as Daejeon Government Complex. Open the Incheon Airport Bus Search and search for “Daejeon” to confirm the current route, boarding stop, departure time, and fare.
  3. Take the airport limousine bus and get off at the Daejeon Cheongsa or Daejeon Government Complex bus stop. Confirm the stop with the driver if necessary.
  4. From the Daejeon Government Complex, take a taxi to the KAIST Academic Cultural Complex (E9). The conference is held on the fifth floor.

This means "Please take me to the KAIST Library." (The KAIST Library and the Academic Cultural Complex refer to the same building.) The conference halls are on the fifth floor.

ALTERNATIVE: By AREX and KTX

This route involves transfers and may be less convenient when traveling with large luggage.

  1. Take the Airport Railroad (AREX) from Incheon International Airport to Seoul Station.
  2. At Seoul Station, transfer to a KTX train bound for Daejeon Station.
  3. From Daejeon Station, continue to the conference venue using one of the following options:
    • By Taxi: A taxi is the simplest option from Daejeon Station. Show the driver the Korean destination written above. The journey takes approximately 20 minutes and costs around KRW 12,000. Travel time and fare may vary depending on traffic and the final drop-off point.
    • By Subway: Take Daejeon Subway Line 1 from Daejeon Station to Wolpyeong (KAIST) Station. From Wolpyeong Station, take a taxi to the conference venue.

      ▷ KAIST operates a shuttle from Wolpyeong Station (Exit No.3) on weekdays, excluding weekends and public holidays. Please check the current KAIST shuttle schedule before relying on the shuttle.
